Pretty Eyes

Okay, so here's an admission: Matt and I fight over who gets to photograph the bride. I got to photograph Karen, and look at this awesome shot I got of her eyes!

An Apple for a Kiss

We wish more people would get married in apple orchards! Actually, Matt and Audra got married in a church. After the ceremony, Matt took them to an apple orchard for a really fun portrait session.

Congratulations!

Laura and Rebecca had a perfect day and we were honored to be chosen as their photographers. The sky poured all day long, but the location they chose was very accomodating despite the weather, and we were able to find some cool spots for the photos... the two brides even ventured out in their lovely complimentary dresses made by Cibeline Sariano into the downpour with an umbrella for some fun shots at the end of the day.

Their wedding was at the Publick House, Old Sturbridge Village.

During the ceremony under the chuppah, the rabbi read this:

From the majority opinion written by Chief Justice Marshall:
"Marriage is a vital social institution. The exclusive commitment of two individuals to each other nurtures love and mutual support; it brings stability to our society...Civil marriage is at once a deeply personal commitment to another human being and a highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family...Because it fulfils yearnings for security, safe haven, and connection that express our common humanity, civil marriage is an esteemed institution and the decision whether and whom to marry is among life's momentous acts of self-definition."

In the context of a wedding ceremony, this reading was quite compelling and surprisingly romantic!
